HOW TO BACKUP A NEW PASSKEY ON SEND

Updated over 3 weeks ago

This article will guide you through the process of adding a new passkey and syncing it across your devices for added security.

Step 1: Open Send App

First, launch your Send app on your main device where you are already logged in.

Step 2: Navigate to Passkey Settings

To add a new passkey, click on your profile and then tap on Passkey.

Step 3: Add New Passkey

Next, Name your new passkey clearly, e.g., "iPhone 14" or "Macbook Air", for easy identification later. Then, select "Add Passkey" and choose "Other Options" when prompted.

From the list of other options, select "iPhone, iPad or Android device" and a QR code will be generated.

Step 4: Scan QR Code with New Device

Using your new device, scan the QR code displayed on your main device. Then, confirm your biometrics on the new device to save the passkey.

Step 5: Add Passkey as Signer

Back on your main device, click on "Add Passkey as Signer" and confirm to allow the new passkey to sign transactions on your account.

Step 6: Sync Across Devices (Recommended)

To ensure your passkey is securely available on all your devices, it is recommended to sync it across devices. Follow these steps based on your device's operating system:

  • For Android & Windows:
Enable Chrome password sync with your Google account.

  • For iOS & macOS:
    Enable iCloud Keychain sync.

This ensures your passkey is securely available on all synced devices.

Important Notes

  • Never share your passkey or QR code with anyone.

  • Always ensure at least two devices are backed up with your passkey for safety.

  • If you lose access to all devices, contact Send Support immediately.

If you need further assistance, you can contact Live Chat Support directly from the Send app.
