Transfer cryptocurrency from your Canton Wallet to other Canton Wallet users, external addresses, or exchanges. This guide covers single transfers, adding contacts, and bulk transfers.
What You Need
Before starting:
Assets available in your Canton Wallet (CC, CUSD, or USDCx)
The recipient's Canton party ID, wallet address, or Sendtag
Memo (if sending to an exchange)
Your Canton Wallet with auto-merged enabled
Step-by-Step Transfer Process
Step 1: Access the Send Page
Open your Canton Wallet
From the home screen, tap the "Send" button
Step 2: Enter Recipient Details
You have several options to add a recipient:
Option 1: Paste Party ID or Address
Paste the recipient's Canton party ID or wallet address in the "RECIPIENT" field
The recipient details will appear with "Transfer Direct" indicator
Option 2: Search by Sendtag
Type the recipient's Sendtag in the search field
Select the recipient from the "SEARCH RESULTS"
Option 3: Select from Contacts
Tap the contact icon next to the recipient field
Select a saved contact from your list
Tap "Select" to confirm
Option 4: Select from Top Senders
Choose from the "TOP SENDERS" displayed below the recipient field
Step 3: Select Asset and Enter Amount
Tap the asset dropdown (e.g., CC) to choose the currency you wish to send
Available assets include: CC, CUSD, and USDCx
Enter the amount you want to send
Your available balance is displayed below
Tap "MAX" to send your entire balance
Step 4: Add Memo (If required)
If sending to an exchange, enter the memo in the "MEMO (OPTIONAL)" field
The memo is provided by the exchange you're sending to
⚠️ Important: A memo is required for exchange deposits. You do not need a memo when sending to a decentralized wallet on the Canton Network.
Step 5: Review and Send
Review the transaction details:
Recipient address
Amount and asset
Network Fee (displayed in CC)
Total amount including fees
Tap the "Send" button
The transaction will show "Preparing..." then "Submitting..."
Step 6: View Transaction Details
Once complete, the transfer appears in your "Activity" tab with "Success" status
Tap the arrow icon on the transaction to view details
The "Transaction Details" screen shows:
Transaction ID
From address
To address
Amount transferred
Managing Contacts
Save frequently used addresses for quick access when sending.
Adding a New Contact
On the Send page, tap the contact icon next to the recipient field
In the "Select Contact" dialog, tap "New"
Fill in the contact details:
Party ID (required)
Display Name (required)
Notes (optional)
Check "Add to favorites" if desired
Tap "Add Contact"
Your contact will now appear in your contacts list for quick selection.
Bulk Transfers
Send assets to multiple recipients in a single transaction (up to 25 recipients).
Enabling Bulk Transfers
On the Send page, tap the multi-person icon in the top right corner
You'll see the "Enable Bulk Transfers" dialog
This is a one-time setup that creates a contract on the network
Tap "Enable Bulk Transfers"
Wait for the setup transaction to complete
Sending to Multiple Recipients
Once enabled, you'll see the bulk transfer interface showing "1/25 recipients"
For each recipient:
Enter the party ID or Sendtag
Select the TOKEN (CC, CUSD, etc.)
Enter the AMOUNT
Tap the "+" button to add more recipients (up to 25)
Add MEMO if required for exchange deposits
Review the SUMMARY showing:
Total recipients
Total amount per token
Available balance
Network Fee
Tap "Send" to process all transfers
