A Canton Wallet account logged in
The full Party IDs of all co-signers you want to add
Agreement from all co-signers to sign the creation request within 7 days
Step-by-Step Safe Account Creation
Step 1: Access the Safe Section
Open your Canton Wallet
Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top left corner
Tap "Safe" from the menu
Step 2: Start Safe Creation
On the Safe page, tap the "Get Started" button (or "Create Safe" if you already have existing Safes)
Step 3: Name Your Safe (Step 1 of 3)
Enter a name for your Safe in the "Safe Name" field (e.g., "Company Treasury")
Names must be 3-20 characters and can include letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, and underscores
Tap "Next"
Step 4: Add Members & Set Threshold (Step 2 of 3)
You will appear as the first signer automatically, marked with "YOU"
To add co-signers:
Enter the co-signer's full Party ID in the "Add Co-Signers" field
Tap "Add"
The co-signer will appear in the "Signers" list
Repeat to add more co-signers as needed
Set the "Signatures Required" using the "+" and "-" buttons
This determines how many signers must approve each transaction (e.g., 2-of-2, 2-of-3)
Tap "Next"
Step 5: Review & Sign (Step 3 of 3)
Review your Safe configuration:
Safe Name
Threshold (e.g., 2-of-2)
Total Signers
Safe Creation Deadline (7 days for all signers to sign)
Transfer Deadline (24 hours for transaction approvals)
Signers list with Party IDs
Tap "Sign & Create Safe"
The button will show "Signing..." while processing
Step 6: Await Co-Signer Signatures
After you sign, the Safe enters "Pending Submission" status:
Your signature is recorded (shown with a checkmark next to your name)
All other signers must sign within 7 days to activate the Safe
Co-Signer Approval Process
Each co-signer must complete these steps to activate the Safe.
Step 1: Review the Request
Co-signers will see a notification banner: "1 transaction need your attention"
Tap "Review" to open the "Pending Signatures" page
Step 2: Sign the Creation Request
Review the pending "Create Safe" request showing:
Proposed by (creator's username and date)
Signing Threshold (e.g., 2-of-2)
Signers list with signature status
Signatures progress (e.g., 1/2)
Tap "Sign" to approve
The button will show "Signing..." while processing
Step 3: Submit to Network
Once all required signatures are collected, the request shows "Submitting..."
The Safe is submitted to the Canton Network for activation

The "Pending Signatures" page shows "All Caught Up!" when complete
You can enable push notifications to be alerted when signatures are needed (a prompt from the browser)
Safe Activation
Once all signers have signed and the Safe is submitted to the network:
The Safe page shows "Awaiting participant authorization..." briefly
Once activated, you'll see the "Safe Activated" banner: "Your safe has been successfully activated. You can now send and receive funds."
